Ty referred to the plush line originally as “POSABLE PLUSH™”; the cats could fold into a seated position, the monkeys’ hands Velcro, and Beanie Bears bean-filled arms and legs were jointed for poses without limits. McGEE has a bean bag in his belly, anchored enough to allow him to lean slightly to the left and right. He is underestimated most because he is Ty’s very first bear! McGEE was produced from late 1987 until the winter of 1997. He was then replaced by Magee the Bear.

I went through the trouble of dissecting every detail of the plush tush tag to fill the gaps where I could not find an example with the tag. This additional tag was added as he was originally sold as a gift shop “Bobby Bare Trap” which I believe is a venue owned and operated by the country musician “Bobby Bare”.
The example below was included as its muzzel seems to be smaller than all other examples with identical tush tag.

Tush tag version 2g-3b, satin bow, paired with 2b-3b hang tag.
When the tag was attached on this example the tag barb was pierced through the tag and not through the hole punch. The hole puncher appears to have been malfunctioning leaving the tag without a complete hole punch. This was a common defect noted on many other plush during the 1992 production cycle.
McGEE 4g – Suface Wash error, No “U.K.”
Tush tag version 3g, paired with 4g hang tag “Ty Europe”, with no “UK” in the address. “Suface Wash” error (should be ” Surface Wash”) on the back of the tag. This tag is also available with a corrective “Surface Wash” sticker.
