Comparing The “Three Sisters”
Nola, Emily, and Rebecca
Emily’s first issue, “Emily with big feet” came with a version 2 tush tag and Korea hang tag. This version is styled in three variations.
1)Emily with green neck bow is considerably rare. Its existence was highly anticipated due to the catalog photo above.
2)Emily with a green floral head bow, the most common
3)Emily with no head bow in a burgundy floral dress, significantly rare but not as rare as Emily with green neck bow.
Many collectors anticipated for Emily to exist with a Hong Kong hang tag since this version of Nola does. I believe since there are earlier versions of Nola, many Hong Kong Nola tags were printed which took several shipments to issue those original tags. I would assume Digby, Nola, Gilbert White and Henry Brown began production earlier at about the same time based on their tush tags and all come with Hong Kong tags and 1A tush tags. Emily, Pouncer, Whiskers, Nicholas, Morgan and Squeaky were produced later, all Issued with similar tush tags but none with 1A tush tags or Hong Kong hang tags.
Emily’s third issue, came with a side green floral head bow, small feet, 1st generation Korean hang tag and version 6K tush tag. Emily’s feet on this example are dark brown still. The head bow stitched just in front of her right ear.
Emily’s feet on this example are now light brown.
Emily with transitional paw pad fabrics. This Emily is the same as the one just above but has light material only on the left arm and right foot, and another with dark on the hands and light on the feet.
Emily with small feet, denim overalls with brass buttons, green floral head bow, 4th generation hang tag and version 8K tush tag. This example I call an Attic misfit, it was originally produced with alternative clothing typically worn by Purrcy, Penelopy and Dickens.
