Clifford with humpback

Clifford with humpback is one of the original 12 attic treasures. The first runs of Clifford have a napped fur and humpback much like the original prototype. He also has a short bow that has a bow tie appearance. 

Below you will see a comparison of the humpback versions on left and two examples of straight back on right in front and profile views.

Clifford was first issued with napped fur, a humpback, short teal bow, 1A “wide woolie” tush tag and Hong Kong hang tag. His short teal bow appears as if it’s a bow tie. This variation is verified by the production prototype seen on second row provided by Linda Harris the designer. On the Third row you can see an example signed by Linda Harris and Ty on the grand opening of the “Teddy Bear Garden”

Clifford’s second issue maintains the napped fur, a humpback, short teal bow, 1A “woolie” tush tag and Hong Kong hang tag.

Clifford straight back

Clifford then transformed from humpback to straight back. His bow is now a longer styled teal bow.  The fur initially remained napped but transitioned to a more plush fur. He is found with various “ALL RIGHTS RESERVED” and “SURFACE WASHABLE” tush tags.
