Comparing The “Three Sisters”
Nola, Emily, and Rebecca
Emily’s first issue, “Emily with big feet” came with a version 2 tush tag and Korea hang tag. This version is styled in three variations.
1)Emily with green neck bow is considerably rare. Its existence was highly anticipated due to the catalog photo above.
2)Emily with a green floral head bow, the most common
3)Emily with no head bow in a burgundy floral dress, significantly rare but not as rare as Emily with green neck bow.
Many collectors anticipated for Emily to exist with a Hong Kong hang tag since this version of Nola does. I believe since there are earlier versions of Nola, many Hong Kong Nola tags were printed which took several shipments to issue those original tags. I would assume Digby, Nola, Gilbert White and Henry Brown began production earlier at about the same time based on their tush tags and all come with Hong Kong tags and 1A tush tags. Emily, Pouncer, Whiskers, Nicholas, Morgan and Squeaky were produced later, all Issued with similar tush tags but none with 1A tush tags or Hong Kong hang tags.
Emily’s second issue, “Emily with green floral head bow and small feet”, comes with a version 3 tush tag and Korea hang tag. Emily’s feet on this example are dark brown like prior versions. Note the smaller font on this version of version 3 tush tag and the head bow is centered on its head.
